Noise in the universe

I've never realised that the Finnish word "ääni" can mean so many things. The word "ääni" can mean in English noise, voice, sound and tone and they have all attached a variety of positive or/and negative meanings or interpretations, depending on the receiver. We get daily exposed to a diversity of noises, voices, sounds and tones, sometimes even voluntarily.

Music might be one of the most controversial forms of sounds that create very strong opinions against as well as in favour of a particular piece of music. Some music has to be even enjoyed in a high volume to be accepted. At the same time there is also music that looks better than it sounds. That's not music but a visual performance. After all, I think we are all searching for positive sounds that serves as filling for silence cavities in our minds.
